Reynolds, operator and guide at Dream Drifter Adventures. Born and raised in the outdoors

The Olympic Peninsula rivers are hands down the most favored waters in the northwest to fish for giant steelhead with hatchery steelhead showing up in late November, running through January, followed by the native, wild steelhead that run until April.

of southern Idaho, I've spent most of my life in pursuit of big fish and big game, growing up chasing steelhead and salmon on the Clearwater and Salmon Rivers. I began my guiding career at age 18 in the Sawtooth Mountains of central Idaho chasing elk, deer, and bear. My summers were spent in the high country lakes and streams after cutthroat and rainbow trout. After getting a taste of a guide's life I was hooked! Branching out, I headed north for Alaska where the fish are bigger and so are the animals. I've spent the last 5 years   fly-fishing and rafting the remote rivers of west Alaska for King, Silvers, Sockeye and Chum Salmon. My obsession for steelhead drove me to the Olympic Peninsula, the premier water for the largest steelies in the northwest. The Sol Duc, Hoh, Bogachiel, and Calawah rivers are the solution to my passion with hatchery steelhead in average of 6-12 lbs. and the monster natives, who run 10-17 lbs. with chances of 20-30 pounders.

Different techniques and styles have progressed and changed as the years go by. I am specializing in both single and two handed fly-fishing. The two handed spey is one of the most effective ways to fly fish big water. With fresh, hard-hitting steelies moving upriver to find their spawning grounds, swinging either large spey or skipping bombers on top is something these fish can't resist. With your first explosive connection there will be no turning back!

swing flies with either single handed rods or spey rods. Floating at a range from 1 to 30 miles from the sea, the fish are fresh and very aggressive, which gives us the upper hand in hooking and landing good numbers of fish each day. Dream Drifter uses only our own hand tied flies, making use of old faithfuls like green butt skunks to new inventions of our own.

The lure of the Olympic Peninsula are the native sea run rainbow, solid chrome with sea lice, in excess of 20 lbs. The fight these fish put up on an 8 weight fly rod is just unbelievable!

So come join me on the dream trip of a llifetime.
